Online Poker

Lately, online poker rooms have been getting much more attention and with that the number of players got bigger. Is it because of the promotions, different modes of play, the inviting VIP Program, maybe the welcome bonus, or all of the above? Well, let’s figure it out together.

What are the main modes of poker game?

Most of the online poker sites offer 3 game modes: Sit N’Go (SNG), Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT) and Cash Game. Here are their main features:

  • MTT are the tournaments that start at a well-defined time. It is a competitive game mode with a very high expectation of earnings.
  • SNG is ideal for fast games. The playing time is limited. Paid places are easy to reach and gain expectations are quite low.
  • Cash Game – You play your money directly and you have total freedom in playing time, but the earnings are often low.

For the SNG and the MTT you’d need to pay a buy-in or an entry fee. It is, however, possible to access some MTT or SNG for free. You will find them grouped in the Freeroll tab of your poker software.

Types of Poker

There are endless types of poker, but not all are supported by online gambling halls. Most of the online poker sites allow you to play the most popular poker variants: Omaha, Hold’Em or even Stud. You should pay attention because each type requires a different approach to hand analysis, bluff management or outs calculation.

Loyalty programs

If you are a passionate poker player, you will definitely look for some kind of loyalty programs. Almost all online poker sites reward the most active players. The principle is quite simple: every time you play in real money, you earn points, which you can redeem in the VIP shop of the site. The more points you earn, the more your VIP level evolves. This will increase your rate of compensation. But, always remember: the VIP program will not make you rich, but it will still allow you to earn bonuses frequently.

Poker Welcome Bonus and One-Time Deals

The welcome offer and the occasional promos are essential criteria to judge the relevance of the offer of a site. For poker, the welcome bonus is usually a 1st deposit boost. Do not trust the maximum amount you can pocket, but rather the percentage offered. One-time offers are also essential. They often take the form of bonuses offered different ways of play. That way, you will diversify your experience.

Payment methods

Online gambling halls usually support 3 types of payment methods:

  • Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard…)
  • Electronic wallets (Skrill, PayPal…)
  • Prepaid cards (Premium Ticket, Money Clic…)

The deposit and withdrawal limits are set by the sites themselves. Please note that only the real money portfolio can be withdrawn. It consists of the money you deposited and the bonuses you released. If you have not reached the playthrough of a bonus, the amount will remain in your bonus wallet.

What poker site features should be in our focus?

First, beware of excessive bonuses. The higher the bonus, the more difficult it will be to convert to real money. A good poker site offers regular gifts to its players. The sums don’t have to be huge to encourage us to come back every day to discover the new missions.

If you like the competition, opt for a room that offers qualifications for live events like World Series of Poker (WSOP) or Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). Who knows, you may have the chance to go to the all-expenses paid world championships?
