TwinSpires Review

Commercial Content. Play Responsibly. 18/21+

TwinSpires is a multi-platform wagering destination that caters to betting on all forms of horse racing, including thoroughbreds, quarter horses and harness racing.

In this TwinSpires review, we scrutinize all aspects of the service and rank each as per the table below.

Betting markets

In focusing exclusively on horse racing, any TwinSpires review is entitled to expect that the sport is covered comprehensively by the bookmaker. Pleasingly, TwinSpires gets it right in this department through a rich range of racing and betting options that horse racing aficionados can choose from.

Bettors can wager on all forms of horse racing across the world, including at racing hot spots such as the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Dubai, as well as New Zealand, South Africa and a range of European countries. The vast majority of race tracks in the United States are also covered, as are those in Canada.

This spread of race track coverage is matched by an assortment of betting options such as outright win, each way and place bets, split and mixed odds wagers, multi picks and trifecta betting. It all adds up to an extensive offering that provides a bit of everything for horse racing bettors.

Odds

Complementing a thorough spread of horse racing betting options, TwinSpires provides a competitive mix of odds, as would be expected of a market leader like TVG or Betamerica. At the time of writing this TwinSpires review, we found TwinSpires offered generally longer odds on US race meets at Zia Park, Turf Paradise and Fair Grounds than competitors such as Xpressbet. Conversely, TwinSpires’ odds on the same day at UK race meets in Wolverhampton and Plumpton tended to be shorter than their competitors, though the differences were only marginal.

TwinSpires app

Any mobile betting app that is unavailable on a particular platform loses marks. Unfortunately, our TwinSpires review found that the company’s mobile app caters exclusively to iOS customers. If not an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch user, customers have to settle for the mobile version of the site should they want to access it via their phones or tablets. This was a major let down, though it was offset somewhat by the overall look and feel of the app, which is user friendly and allows for efficient navigation.

Live streaming, video replays and a variety of statistics and helpful handicap information, which can be delivered in the form of notifications, are also positives.

Payment options

Depositing is quick and easy with TwinSpires, with payment methods including EZ Money, EZ Bank Bill Pay, debit and credit card deposits, PayPal, wire transfers, MoneyGram transfers, check, PayNearMe and Green Dot @ the Register. For fee-free deposits, customers should opt for the EZ Money and EZ Bank options, with other methods such as debit or credit card payments incurring a $5 flat fee per transaction.

Regardless of the deposit method, funds are credited into the customer’s account immediately. The options are not as vast with withdrawing funds, this TwinSpires review found. Funds can be withdrawn via EZmoney and take 3-5 business days to reach the customer’s bank account, or via check, which can take up to 10 business days.

Customer care

Live chat and a seven-day-a-week phone line (1-877-774-7371, 9am to 12am) are convenient and efficient modes of customer support. While using both these methods during our TwinSpires review, we encountered knowledgeable representatives that provided a prompt, polite and professional service.

Email queries can also be sent, both via the support section on the website and to [email protected], with replies generally arriving within 48 hours. A thorough FAQ section on the website adds to the host of options customers have when enquiring about TwinSpires products and services.

Streaming on TwinSpires

As far as horse racing streaming services go, few online bookmakers can match TwinSpires’ offering. Through its integrated TwinSpires TV module, available to both online and mobile users, a high-quality streaming service that provides a video feed of five tracks at once is available.

This is complemented by a quick-bet wager pad that facilitates simultaneous watching and betting, as well as a comprehensive race library for form study. Real-time racing and program information, along with up-to-the-minute live odds, round out a world-class streaming and live service offering that gets top marks in our TwinSpires review.

Our Verdict of TwinSpires

For horse racing fans, TwinSpires is a reliable and reputable brand to place your bets with. A strong spread of betting options at racetracks across the world, competitive odds and outstanding streaming options lead us to conclude this TwinSpires review with strong recommendation.

That rating can improve if the company offers its mobile app on Android.
